Like many things in life, the turning of the calendar is entirely arbitrary but that doesn’t mean it’s not useful.
It can be useful, for example, to use the flip of a digit (at the end of a number, though come to think of it it could be a finger as well) as an excuse to reboot a domain you’ve owned for, it turns out, ten years exactly.
It can be useful to lightly select your inspiration from friends who have set goals and achieved them in calendar years just past.
It can be useful to release the bundle of anxiety that sat like a knotty grey cloud between your brain and the keyboard, your eyes and the screen. Just pretend it’s not there, you won’t even have to squint.
It can be useful to begin.
